Nestled on a quiet, medieval street winding up to a medieval fortress (the Esslingen Burg), this spacious 140 sq. meter apartment is within easy walking distance to ALL amenities and the bus & train station. We are 2 minutes from the Marktplatz. KEY FEATURES: - 3 large bedrooms - 2 bathrooms - An office - Library, living room, and dining room - Old wooden floors in the living room and library - Fully equipped kitchen, with Miele appliances (dishwasher, fridge) - Flatscreen TV in the library - 2 balconies and a garden with views of the entire valley - One gas and one coal grill on the balcony - The house is from the year 1530, with exposed wooden beams and plenty of afternoon light. - Master bedroom has a king size bed (180x200cm) and large wardrobes. - Large children's bedroom has a solid wood bunk bed, two desks, and a hammock. This room is plenty big enough for two children - Smaller children's room has walk-in closet and a built-in bookshelf In addition, we have a large 500 square meter garden 20 minute walk from our house. That garden has a little hut with space to sleep and several fruit trees. It is the perfect little get-away. We would be willing to rent the garden for a small fee. Esslingen is a beautiful, medieval city (90k inhabitants), surrounded by vineyards, that is 12 km outside of Stuttgart. It's also 1 hour to Ulm, 2.5 hours to Munich, and 3.5 hours to Paris (by train). Esslingen has a vibrant cultural life, with theatres, movie theatres, concert venues, restaurants, bars--all within easy reach. Esslingen is also host of the famous Medieval Christmas market, which attracts 1 million visitors (in non-Corona times). We are a 2 minute walk to the centre of the Christmas Market, yet are not at all affected by the noise or the crowds of the market. The apartment is a 10 minute walk to the Esslingen main train station and a 3 minute walk to a bus stop. Esslingen is on the S1 train line, which is connected to Boeblingen, Sindelfingen, Vaihingen, etc. More pictures of bathrooms, office, balconies, and the house available upon request!
