Welcome to the Gingerbread House! Our apartment in this beautiful century-old home was recently renovated and has the best views the house has to offer. It is a two-bedroom-and-an-office apartment with lovely skylights, heated floors in the kitchen and bathroom, heat pump units that warm up the place in the winter and cool it down in the summer, a lovely reading nook overviewing the park in front, all five appliances in a super functional kitchen, and amazing quality of life. We renovated the place for ourselves but, at the end of the reno, we found out that we'll have to move for work purposes, so we are looking for quiet and conscientious tenants who will take good care of our home. The apartment is on the second floor (hence the nice views) and is accessible by external stairs (an architectural feature of the neighborhood). It has a nice balcony where you can barbecue and enjoy dining al fresco - as well as people-watching while catching some sunshine. The apartment can be furnished or unfurnished to your needs, since we have a lot of furniture to move around the house. Please note that the office is the one with the kids beds and stuffed toys (they prefer to sleep there and keep the front bedroom as their play room). Also, we are currently having a cushion made for the reading nook. It will be in a similar color to the couch - dark grey. LOCATION: In the heart of the vibrant Plateau, our place is right across the street from Jeanne-Mance park, where you can just laze about or play beach volleyball, soccer, football, frisbee, softball, and tennis in the summer, and go ice skating or play pick up hockey in the winter. There is also a nice playground and a wading pool for children. Beyond the park, Mont Royal is right in front of the house and you can set off on a hike up to two belvederes and enjoy the views of Montreal. Olmsted-designed Mont Royal park is also great for running, biking, picnicking in the summer, and cross-country skiing, skating, sledding and snowshoeing in the winter. Our street is residential and quiet but also close to everything you might need: It’s a walker's paradise - a short walk to downtown, McGill University, and UQAM, while also right beside bustling St. Laurent and all of the amazing things that the Plateau and Mile End neighborhoods have to offer: grocery stores, cool boutiques, hip cafés, bars and restaurants, gyms and a community swimming pool. A 15-minute walk takes you to the arts and entertainment district, home to many festivals such as the Montreal Jazz Festival, Just for Laughs, the Circus Festival and many others. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: There's free street parking right in front of the house and you can also get a residential parking sticker with the city so you are not restricted to the visitor area. Please note that smoking is strictly prohibited in the apartment and on the property grounds. No pets of any kind allowed. I would be happy to give you a virtual tour of the place or send you more pictures, so please feel free to get in touch with any questions you might have!
