Lexington, Kentucky, United States
We are looking for a family or individual(s) who will enjoy our home while we are away on sabbatical. We want you to feel at home and will help you adjust to the area as well as to the home. We hope to provide you and yours with a wonderful place to dwell during your stay or start in Lexington. Our things will remain in the home, but we will ensure they are either available for your use (furniture, kitchenware, etc.), or out of your way. We have set the rental amount much lower than a furnished house in this neighborhood might command, because of the unique situation of house-sitting along with enjoying the home. We look forward to hearing from you!
2 Months | Dates are flexible for this listing
Comments: We are looking for someone for the whole academic year, but are also open to shorter summer stays.
University of Kentucky
Comments: Close to downtown and universities, super close to the beautiful bluegrass, mid-century architecture and planned community.
Comments: The house has six bedrooms, but we are keeping two for storage. You will have use of kitchen cookware and utensils. Linens etc. are available upon request. The home is furnished. Some furnishings are negotiable, depending on your needs.
Comments: There is a unisex toddler bed and a Chicco Lullaby portable crib, and we will make some toys available if you are coming with kids. Smoking indoors is never ok. However, we could be ok with smoking outdoors.
We will need you to forward some mail now and then, using postage-paid envelopes we will leave behind.
We have a lot of house plants, including potted trees that need to come inside in the winter. If you are up for this, great! If not, we can find another temporary home for them during the year. There is a garden plot, and its use is optional.
Comments: You'll need to ensure that the front lawn is mowed. A contractor is in place to mow, and you can keep that going or do it yourself. The whole place is $40 per mow, and the front only is $20. We will pay for leaf removal in the fall.
High Speed Internet
Balcony or Patio
Comments: The house sits among trees on half an acre. The neighborhood has one entrance/exit. The neighborhood association regularly sponsors get-togethers.
