Lexington, Kentucky, United States
This is a beautiful mid-century home on a large lot, built in 1962 and lovingly restored with period sinks, light fixtures, etc. It has fresh paint on the outside (not shown in the pics, since the job is still underway), modern furnishings that you get to use, and is kid- and pet-friendly. We are looking for a family or individual(s) who will enjoy our home while we are away on sabbatical. We want you to feel at home and will help you adjust to the area as well as to the home. We hope to provide you and yours with a wonderful place to dwell during your stay or start in Lexington. Our things will remain in the home, but we will ensure they are either available for your use (furniture, kitchenware, etc.), or out of your way. We look forward to hearing from you!
11 Months | Dates are flexible for this listing
Comments: We would love to find a tenant who stays for all 11.5 months, but shaving a bit off of the start or end dates would be ok. We would just pro-rate the rent for that period.
University of Kentucky
Comments: Close to downtown and universities, super close to the beautiful bluegrass, mid-century architecture and planned community.
Comments: The house has six bedrooms, but we are keeping two for storage. You will have use of furniture and everything else you might need, such as kitchenware and utensils. The home is furnished. Some furnishings are negotiable, depending on your needs.
Comments: Should you be bringing kids, there is a backyard play set, unisex toddler bed and portable crib, and we will be happy to make some toys available (rocking horse, ride-on toy, etc.). Any smoking must be out-door only.
We will need you to forward some mail now and then, using postage-paid envelopes we will leave behind.
We have quite a few house plants that you will need to water. There is a garden plot, and its use is optional. We'll be leaving you some tomato plants in case you like tomatoes.
Comments: You'll need to ensure that the front lawn is mowed. A contractor is in place to mow, and you can keep that going or do it yourself. The whole place is $40 per mow, and the front only is $20. We will pay for leaf removal in the fall.
High Speed Internet
Balcony or Patio
Comments: The house sits among trees on half an acre. The neighborhood has one entrance/exit. The neighborhood association regularly sponsors get-togethers.
