Richmond, California, United States
Unique, comfortable, and peaceful home of 2 artists with views of the San Francisco Bay from every window and a drool-worthy yard to soak in the birdsong. This is a summer sublet, fully furnished, 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom stand alone home in Point Richmond. The home is 1000 square feet plus two decks and a huge, beautiful yard with sitting area and propane fire table. You'll feel like you are on the riviera! And when you want to stretch your legs, you'll find it an incredible walking neighborhood. There's even a pebbled beach access a few blocks away, along with a few pocket parks to take in the Bay views. This is a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, tucked into a corner of the Bay Area next to the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. Easy access to all that the metropolitan Bay Area has to offer. Jump across the bridge to the gorgeous Mount Tamalpais State Park and famous Marin County beaches. Hop on a nearby ferry, metro (BART) or drive in to San Francisco. The house has views of Mount Tamalpais and stunning sunsets and views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. Walk into the quaint downtown Point Richmond in 10 minutes and find several restaurants to choose from, as well as post office, bank, cleaners and a couple small markets. There is an "office" with a large desk with huge picture windows, excellent for writing, zooming or creating right off the kitchen and yard/deck access. The home is essentially on a single level with two, single steps into rooms. The bathroom is modern with walk-in shower. There's a soaking tub in the master bedroom. You'll even get to enjoy some home grown tomatoes from the yard. We are both artists. I (Gray) am a high school visual arts and ceramics teacher of 22 years. Giuseppe is a sculptor and entrepreneur, represented in galleries around the country. He also is the founder and head of the Eldorado Springs Art Center outside of Boulder, Colorado. We are both avid outdoors people, with a penchant for running rivers, plying bodies of water in sea kayaks or exploring trails on mountain bikes. I'm also a percussionist, loving to learn the rhythms and cultures of Cuba, West Africa, Brazil, and have played in Bay Area rhythm ensembles. As a teacher, we take advantage of my school breaks to work and play at the art center in Colorado as well as spend time with friends and family there. Together, we have co-created our lovely home, adding artistic flare and renovations over the last 8 years. We care about our home and space and want someone who can take care of it and appreciate it. We don't mind if you have some small gatherings, but absolutely no parties. RENTAL REQUIREMENTS Ideally we are renting to one party for the entire summer, not more than 2 people. Ideal for a couple. There is a single parking space on the cul-de-sac entrance. We will interview folks and show the space via zoom or facetime. Subletters must provide landlord references and sign a sublet agreement. One month rent ($2,500) plus $700 security deposit is due upon signing the sublet agreement to hold the house for your use. If the house is subletted for shorter than the full summer, then terms are $700/week. Total for the whole summer (7 weeks) is $4,375
