I am an architect & professor at Cal Poly Pomona and am subletting my gorgeous light- and art-filled townhouse in Village Green for one year while I am on my sabbatical in Berlin. Village Green is a historic urban green oasis with many mature trees, a large communal park, a large bird population (including parakeets and crows!), outdoor concerts in the summer, and is overall a great community (the next door neighbors in my building are amazing). Despite its bucolic feel, it is closely connected to the rest of the city - Culver City (with restaurants, Trader Joe's, cafes, and Arcana Books on the Arts) is a less than 10 minute drive away, the Expo line station nearby, and downtown LA to the east / the beach to the west only a 20 minute drive (depending on traffic!). The closest grocery store (Ralph's) is a 2 minute drive; there will be a Whole Foods within a 5-minute drive soon, and Trader Joe's is about 10 minutes by car. In addition, Kenneth Hahn State Park with its stunning views of the city and many hike trails is just up the hill (a 5 minute drive into the park). Beautiful original parquet / wood plank flooring throughout. On the top floor are the bathroom and two bedrooms. The smaller bedroom has a bed (with a brand new mattress) and views of the patio and a tree; the large bedroom overlooks a park and is currently used as a studio and office. If desired, it can be converted into a bedroom with a new bed. This room also has a large storage closet; one portion has a built-in desk; the other a platform with a futon (large enough to sleep a guest) or room for a wardrobe. The bathroom has a bathtub and a separate shower and a brand new TOTO toilet. On the ground floor, you will find the kitchen, a large living room (with views of the park) and a dining room (with a table that seats 4-6 people) that opens up to a private patio. The house is fully furnished, and included are also a large-screen TV and Sonos speakers in 3 rooms. The kitchen is equipped with a range, large freezer/fridge, microwave, toaster oven, espresso maker, dishwasher, and a washing machine (a dryer is available in the nearby laundry room). The patio has a BBQ (with gas line) and can host 6 or more people. Parking is available outside on the property. There is 24/7 onsite security.
