Austin, Texas, United States
This two-bedroom, two-bath condominium is located in a registered historic building across the street from the UT campus. Facing west, it has high glass doors and windows and a balcony running the entire length. It is very well sound-proofed. There is a large flatscreen tv on the living room wall, and another monitor; each has its own cable box. (Cable service is included, as is wifi service.) There is also a Bose radio/cd player. There are ample closets in both bedrooms. With 24-hour concierge and garage service, the building is extremely secure and well maintained. The weight-room and outdoor pool and jacuzzi, the downstairs sitting areas and a room available for gatherings (at no cost), plus the rooftop, provide further amenities. The building manager is on site and available during business hours, and the staff is unfailingly polite and helpful. The porte-cochère in front of the building makes getting picked up or dropped off easy, and there are excellent bus connections very close-by. There is a reserved parking space for the unit in the garage, plus free parking for guests. Many UT faculty live in the building, which is well-known among Austinites, since, built in 1964, it was the city's first "high-rise." It is a five-minute walk from the Blanton Museum of Art and ten minutes to the Perry-Castañeda Library and Gregory Gym.
