Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Experience living in the heart of Montreal, in a neighbourhood that was built over 100 years ago; the iron cast staircases on triplex row houses with their little gardens in the front and back yards and a convenience store at every corner. Nearby are numerous ethnic restaurants from all corners of the earth, next to bistros, pubs, cafés and specialty stores catering to all tastes. Yet, once you are inside the apartment, you can enjoy all the conveniences of a modern, comfortable home, ideally suited for two people or a small family; but there is also plenty of room for visitors. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, a walk-in closet and a sitting area. The second bedroom has been converted into a study in one section, but also has a pull-out single ''Murphy'' bed for the occasional visitor. If necessary, we have a crib that can be added to the master bedroom or put into the offie. In addition the pull out couch in the living room has a 6 inch "Sealy" mattress that can comfortably sleep two adults. For the family with children, there are also two rooms and a bathroom downstairs that we can make available to you for an additional $250 for each two week period. This additional living space of over 550 sq feet includes one room that is currently used as a playroom, but can easily be converted into a bedroom. The other room has two single beds that are currently joined to make a comfortable, king-sized bed. The backyard is completely closed in, which makes for an intimate environment that is safe for toddlers and young children. There is parking spot accessible via the back alley. It is adjacent to the backyard and is limited to a small car. Located half-way between two major traffic arteries, the apartment is relatively quiet, especially in the backyard and after 10h00 pm. Since the apartment is on the ground floor, it could easily be made accessible to a handicapped person. All universities are within a 35 minute walk or around 20 minutes by public transport. The apartment is about 100 feet from the nearest BIXI stand, a public service where bicycles that can be rented for one way trips to all destinations in downtown Montreal and adjacent districts. If you like running or walking, Mount Royal and its many walkways and parks is within little more than a 20 minute walk..
