Perfect family retreat in central Cambridge UK

About us: We are interested in many places and many cities! I am a Professor of Law at the University of Cambridge. I have lived and worked here for many years. My family and I would like to share our love of travel by exchanging our lovely house in central Cambridge with other academics. I will be accompanied by my partner (a chartered surveyor), and some of our children (daughters 12, 14, and maybe our older children 18, 20 years). We would like to swap for 2 weeks in summer, anywhere in Europe. We like active trips with sun, sea/pool, cultural sightseeing, and other languages. About our home: Our home is a large house in central Cambridge, within walking distance of famous Kings College, the River Cam, quaint cobbled streets, multiple museums and galleries, etc. It is perfect for an academic family. We have four bedrooms: (1) King, (2) Double, (3) SuperKing (can also be arranged as Twin or Single), (4) Single. There are study areas and a music room. We also have a lovely sunny, SW-facing garden, bicycles, car parking, Netflix and Prime, printer, and two cats. (PS The cats would like feeding! But we can arrange someone to help if you prefer.) About Cambridge Cambridge is one of the world's best universities, one of the UK`s prettiest towns, and close to London. With the prestigious University and colleges at its heart, it blends ancient and contemporary landmarks in a fascinating mix including cobbled streets, winding river, towering gothic chapels, serene cows and swans, famous libraries and museums, quirky pubs, contemporary galleries and sculptures, top-quality shopping, guided walking, cycling, punting and ghost tours. There is so much on offer! From our house, it is a lovely journey (5 minute cycle; 15 minute walk) to the heart of the "old city" centre. The route includes quiet tree-lined streets, a pedestrianised bridge over the RIver Cam and finally Cambridge`s famous Jesus Green. There are many art galleries, theatres, bookshops, music events, libraries, gardens, and historical buildings. There is an large outdoor pool within 10 minutes walk for hot days. For those who like a touch of luxe on holiday: we are also within walking distance of "The Varsity" with its decadent spa and rooftop bar, and the Michelin starred restaurant, Midsommer House (bookings required). In the nearby countryside, there is Ely Cathedral, a bouncy aqua park, country parklands, BMX pump tracks, go-karting, the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds, horse riding and much more. London is just one hour by train. And for a day trip to the seaside, choose between all the beaches on the Norfolk and Suffolk coasts.
