Our house is grade II listed, designed by Eric Lyons for SPAN in 1963, with a strong mid-century modern feel. The ground floor is open plan with a small separate kitchen. An open teak staircase leads to a large open office/sitting area with a full-wall floor to ceiling window. Two bedrooms, a laundry room and bathroom are off of that space. One bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom is very small, with a double bed and not much other space. The house is an 8 minute walk to Blackheath Village, with shops, restaurants, bakeries, fishmonger, bookstore and train station. Central London is about 15 minutes by train. The Heath is one of the largest open areas in London, with a lot of sky and beautiful sunsets. We are an avid tennis player, a sustainability professional, and our son who's just graduated from university in the UK. We hope to spend some time in Boston working from home and supporting an ageing mother, and our son is planning to do an internship at a nonprofit in Allston.
