Description
We have a fabulous home in Edinburgh just 20 mins from the centre, and we are working in Sydney for 6 months from January 2024. We'd love to swap with a couple/single/family for the 6 months. We're open to caring for your pets (I already do dog boarding, and Simon loves cats) and plants. Our home has lots of space, including a couple of home offices, and a big garden with summerhouse. We're a couple of minutes from a bus stop with regular buses to the Royal Mile, Princes St, Leith, Portobello and beyond. Locally we have great neighbourhood shops, cafes and pubs. There are 3 big parks within 30 minutes, and of course the whole of beautiful Scotland within reach as well. Edinburgh is an amazing city, there's always lots of art, theatre, music etc going on. There are lots of independent restaurants, and all different kinds of places to drink. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site - there is history just all over the place. And beaches and mountains are just a bus ride away as well. If you are based in Sydney and have the chance to come away for 6 months, we could be a perfect match!

Comments: We're looking for a swap from Edinburgh to Sydney for January - June/July 2024. Our home is a big Victorian Double Upper Villa. On the first floor we have a comfortable kitchen, large sunny living room for relaxing and more formal dining, the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, and a large study with two big desks and two small desks, set up for remote working. There is a further home office above the kitchen, great for private (or noisy!) meetings. Upstairs there is the family bathroom, plus four big bedrooms. Outside, there's a big garage and a big garden, with two ponds, a decking area, raised vegetable bed and summerhouse with a sofa in it for relaxing.

Comments: Two home offices, 4 big bedrooms, bus ride or walk into the centre of Edinburgh, quiet neighbourhood, lovely garden. Near the universities and any other employers - Edinburgh has great public transport - actually it has great everything!

Comments: Simon will be working at Sydney Uni January to June 2024, so this would ideally be a swap with another academic coming to Edinburgh. We have a huge family home, but we are only two people, so we are happy to swap for a much smaller home than our own.
