Our home is set in a beautiful, private, sub-tropical garden just outside the village of Kerikeri. It is comfortable and sunny with a lovely outlook and outdoor entertaining/relaxing space. There are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fire, heat pump, double garage and car port. We are 15 minutes walk to an amazing pub/restaurant and cafe, at a historical site by the river. We are 30 minutes walk from the town centre and there are swimming holes and walking trails nearby. The various tourist attractions of Paihia, Waitangi and the Bay of Islands are about a 25 minute drive away. Kerikeri is a small, pretty town with some nice eateries, pubs and wineries, a cinema, and all the amenities you will need. There is an airport with four or five flights a day to Auckland (35min), from where you can easily connect to other parts of the country. The volcanic soil of the area produces fantastic orchard fruit and there is an excellent weekend market selling produce and local fare. The great drawcard for the Northland region, however, is the coast. There are fantastic beaches and various coastal attractions all around the region. We are a family of four ideally looking for a long term exchange. Both Jon and I have lived overseas previously and are keen to make it happen again. Jon is a former university lecturer and we are both now public servants. While our preference would be for a long term exchange somewhere in the UK (within easy commute of a main centre), we are also open to shorter exchanges, preferably in Spain, France, Belgium, Canada (Ontario or Quebec) or the United States (east or west coast).
