California Ranch three-floor split level at end of country lane along freshwater oasis on 1.4 acres of wild forest. A rare find in New England. Enter private tree-lined wild garden brick pathway to sunny spacious 4-bed, 3-bath oasis. Cathedral ceilings, wood floors, nature views, 2 stone fireplaces (including one in kitchen), spacious office studio. Yoga/meditation space + free weights. Bathtub + private one-bedroom/bath studio space w/own entrance to house. Ample closets & full kitchen with granite countertops and skylights. Brand new (green energy) heat pumps (heat/ac/dehumidifier all in one) recently installed throughout home. Casita 6 is a three level split which means it is great for gathering together and also offers privacy with bedrooms, bathrooms and a common area on each floor. Most of house is wood floors. The private studio and downstairs is carpeted. New washer and dryer installed too. Upstairs bedroom and private studio have their own outside wooden decks overlooking forest and fresh water. Two private decks, 3 grills (propane, charcoal, & smoker), 2 outdoor fire pit. Two minutes from fresh water kayak/canoe & 10 min to sea. Easy access to Boston via public transport (train, ferry). Car rental available. Upstairs living room has three walls of windows overlooking forest, tall ceilings, wood floors, a flat screen and spacious stone fireplace. Flat screens for movie watching also in both downstairs bedrooms. Ample free parking on property. Just 30 seconds down the town road on a lane, home is very private- no neighbors on three sides. Just forest and fresh water. And yet, grocery store, pharmacies, Starbucks, bookstore - 1 minute drive or 10-minute walk away. Local town center with restaurants, cafes and bars a 5-minute drive. Commuter Rail is a 5-minute drive. 15-minute bike ride. 30-40 minutes to Boston and all public transportation there to downtown, Harvard, MIT, and other universities and urban towns with great restaurants, live music, shops, cafes, museums and more. Bikes, kayaks, canoe, beach equipment all included. We have three lovely cats that we hope you would care for while staying in Casita 6. They are friendly, quiet and one of them is a cuddle cat. House swap option note: We are academics (scientist and historian/story worker) who are looking for a place to relax with our 16-year-old daughter. We are happy to swap to a smaller home than Casita 6. A two bedroom, two bath with a kitchen and a place to work is perfect for us. We prefer a place with walking distance to cafes/public transportation. We would also use a car if necessary. We are happy to help with pets, plants, gardens & mail if needed. We would also need internet and a place to work.
