We've lived in this lovely 1923 craftsman bungalow since 2011 and have upgraded it little by little. The house has three bedrooms, a spacious living room, a dining room (seats 6), a fully equipped kitchen, and a modern bathroom. The back yard is spacious, shady, and green, and includes two outside offices, a pool/swimming machine, an outdoor shower/sink area, a seating area with a gas fire pit, a gas grill, a covered deck area for dining, and a vegetable garden. We are located in the heart of Highland Park, just steps from Occidental College and a short drive/metro ride from USC, CalTech, and Huntington Library. Highland Park is a vibrant and diverse neighborhood in Northeast Los Angeles, close to Eagle Rock, Glassell Park, and Mount Washington and in proximity to South Pasadena, Pasadena, and Altadena. Our house is a couple of blocks from one of Highland Park's commercial streets, with cafés, bookstores, clothing shops, music venues, bars, restaurants, and a playground. We love going for walks with our kids, getting fresh bagels from the bakery on York Avenue, and seeing gigs at the Lodge on Figueroa. We're close to public transportation (metro and bus) so it's easy to go downtown or to Pasadena, but we also love packing up the car to head to the beach or go for a hike in the Angeles National Forest. Highland Park is a great home base from which to explore all that Los Angeles has to offer!
