This is a lovely furnished historic (1884) home with an off-street parking space, updated with all the modern conveniences. I'm a professor of art history who takes pride in a serene, art-filled space. There is a wonderful covered porch out back with a grill and overhead fan, opening onto a green backyard full of native plants and trees. There are two queen bedrooms and two lovely, light-filled offices; one doubles as a recording studio for my musician husband (bonus baby grant piano!), while the other is equipped with a standing desk. There are 1.5 bathrooms; the second floor full bath includes a huge whirlpool tub. The large kitchen, dining room, and yard are great for entertaining. There is an old carriage house out back. We can provide a high quality blow-up bed to convert one of the offices into an additional sleeping space if needed. A/C, heat, grill, TV, piano, recording space, and slow electric vehicle charging (negotiable rate) available. Penn-Knox is a quiet, green neighborhood within the larger Germantown area, located close to the vast trail system of Wissahickon Park. We are 1/2 a block from buses across Philadelphia and .7 miles to Wayne Junction, a major train hub with direct access to Center City, U. Penn, Temple, Drexel, 30th St. Station, airport, and much more. The house is an easy walk to a brand new Weavers Way Food Co-op and plenty of cool spots to explore throughout the Germantown, Mt. Airy, East Falls, Chestnut Hill, and Manyunk neighborhoods. There are several walkable Quaker schools. We are also open to arranging stays at our gorgeous window-filled, 1700 sq ft mountaintop house in southern New Hampshire. It is located on 31 wooded acres on wonderful hiking trail system and a short (15 min) drive to the cool, creative town of Brattleboro, VT. We won't have a listing available for this new gem in our lives until later this year, but please reach out for photos and conversation. Having a second spot to head to allows us to be flexible about rental terms (and the extra income helps make it all work!).
