About Me
Have taught International Relations courses focused on the Western Hemisphere beginning in the late 1990's through the mid-2000's at The George Washington University and Johns Hopkins-SAIS in Washington, D.C. and since 2007 at Stanford University. I chaired the Western Hemisphere Area Studies program at the U.S. State Department's Foreign Service Institute between 2011 and 2016. I have studied at Tel Aviv University and have a B.A. in History from Columbia University, a J.D. from the Villanova University School of Law, and an M.Phil. Latin American Studies from the University of Oxford. Have taught at universities in Argentina, Chile, and Peru. Have worked on economic development projects in the Caribbean, Central and South America, Indonesia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Extensive travel in all continents but Antarctica.
