The flat is really comfortable. Although it is in the city centre (and therefore very well connected to every other part of the city) it is peaceful and silent. Once you are inside, you can completely forget the noise of tourists and just listen to the sound of the birds in the beautiful garden. It's a kind of magic! Aesthetically very stylish, essential and comfortable at the same time. Nothing is lacking or in excess. Madeleine is a lovely landlady, very accommodating, caring, practical and attentive. I felt welcome, privileged and cared in the two months I spent in the flat. I really enjoyed my experience in Amsterdam, due in large part to this accommodation. Thank you Madeleine. This is a beautiful and quiet apartment on the garden side of a former brewery on the Prinsengracht near the Westerkerk. It could hardly be more centrally located, being within easy walking distance of the University of Amsterdam, the station, the Dam, and many other amenities, and right next to the Jordaan, but nevertheless the apartment is peaceful because it is on the courtyard rather than the canal side. The apartment has a double bedroom, a study, and a modern bathroom, as well as a large and airy main room with original beams and pleasant windows along two of the walls. It has a small balcony overlooking the garden. The kitchen is on one wall of the main room. The apartment is very pleasant to live in and well appointed. It is within five minutes' walk of three supermarkets and is very convenient in every way. Madeleine is an attentive and helpful landlady who did everything she could to make sure my stay was comfortable and useful. I would certainly rent this apartment again and recommend it highly. Beyond Exceptional! My husband and I were recently blessed to spend two semesters in this perfect Amsterdam apartment - perfect for work, perfect for living, and perfect for exploring the city . The apartment overlooks a quiet garden in the center of the canal district. The beauty of the location is matched by the kindness of the owner. Madeleine proved to be accommodating in every way possible. She has made the apartment affordable for academics both in regard to rent and security deposit (fully refunded). This was our fifth sabbatical and by far the best due in large part to the accommodations we felt privileged to have. Thank you Madeleine. Excellent Anne and Patrick Williamson 6/24/2014 3:15:00 PM
I have just returned from three amazing months in this apartment. It's a fantastic location, with a fantastic owner, Madeleine, and a great apartment, complete with all the things you'd need. I was there with my husband and we had plenty of space for both of us. Madeleine is an absolute pleasure to work with, and I'm so fortunate we were able to spend a sabbatical semester in her place. If you rent this apartment, you will not be sorry! Excellent JenF 12/19/2012 12:30:00 PM
This apartment is full of character, amazingly located (at the heart of the best area to live in Amsterdam), wonderful value-for-money and a pleasure to live in. The owner is very kind, very well organised and understanding. I was there for three months and I enjoyed the place very much. Highly recommended. Excellent frame82 8/6/2012 2:04:00 AM
