Bright In-town Bungalow, 1/2 mile to UGA Arch on North Campus

Family-friendly bungalow with beautiful light, built in 2005 at the true edge of downtown Athens. This home sits at the edge of the downtown river district (literally, cross the street) and is four blocks from the downtown historic district. Very convenient to campus: walk 1/2 mile to the UGA Arch; just 2 blocks to Athens Multi-Modal bus station on campus bus route. Even though it is close to the hustle and bustle, the quiet setting in a single-family neighborhood combined with the deep set-back from the street make it easy to forget you are just footsteps away from a vibrant downtown. The location offers the best of both worlds: closest possible proximity to downtown/north campus AND a neighborhood setting with more greenspace than anywhere else in-town: Dudley Park, Trail Creek mountain biking, & the Greenway are a stone's throw away. A very special place.

For groups traveling with young children, the space is uniquely prepared without being intrusively so to our guests without a family in tow. We have thoughtfully incorporated safety recommendations according to Safe Kids Worldwide and there are children's items throughout the house (crib, booster seats, safety gate, stepping stool, diaper changing pad, stroller, toys, books etc.).

This house was custom built in 2005: 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, 1293 square feet plus 340 square feet of combined covered/screened porch space. Bamboo floors and 9 foot ceilings. All electric. Natural light is a highlight; abundant windows bring the outdoors into every room.

3 Bedrooms:
-Master has Queen bed + crib + en suite bathrooms (the crib also fits in the other bedrooms if guests have a preference to have it arranged elsewhere). Double closets with shelving/organizing system for hanging and storing clothes.
- Second bedroom has Queen bed. Closet with hanging and shelf space for personal storage.
- Third bedroom has Full-size bed. Vintage 3-drawer dresser, plus closet with hanging and shelf space for personal storage. There is also an additional comfy foam twin-size mattress that stows neatly under the bed when not needed--perfect for an overflow guest.
- An added desk could be configured in one of the bedrooms if a dedicated office space is desired during a long-term stay.

House comfortably sleeps 6 adults plus an infant or toddler in the crib/toddler bed. (7 adults if the extra twin floor mattress is used)

Spacious front porch with swing, ceiling fans, and long views down the front yard to the banks of the North Oconee River, with downtown just beyond.

Bright and comfy living room is semi-open to the kitchen/dining area. 40-inch flat screen television with Roku and DVD player. Roku is logged into our Amazon Prime Video account for you to enjoy along with Roku's free channels; otherwise, log into your own subscription channels (Netflix, Hulu, cable, etc.). House does NOT have regular cable/TV service. We also provide one HDMI cable if guests wish to connect their laptop/tablet/ mobile device to the TV in order to stream content through WIFI. In addition to the HDMI input, there is also one USB input and one HDMI/MHL (Mobile High Definition Link).

Kitchen is very well-equipped and roomy, perfect for gathering with breakfast bar. Stainless appliances including beautiful designer-grade hood. Microwave, toaster, coffee maker, espresso machine, immersion blender and all the necessary cookware and gadgets for cooking nice meals.

Dining area is open to kitchen.

French doors open to screened back porch, where you can sit under the ceiling fan to read or sip coffee while listening for hawks calling from the woodland surroundings.

Laundry closet with side-by-side washer/dryer is located off of dining room/kitchen.

Small terraced back yard is fenced and semi-private. Landing off back porch has a stacked recycled concrete sitting-wall. Stone stairs lead to upper area of yard, where there is a small fallow vegetable garden. Yard has some nice landscaping and hardscaping features and then transitions to wooded surroundings.

Off-street parking available for 3 passenger vehicles. Possibly room for 4th car depending on vehicle size. Please inquire about a fourth vehicle if interested in additional information. There is no on-street parking directly adjacent to our house.
