Spacious Colonial Apartment with Air Condition

Welcoming you to the perfect oasis of cool and quiet in the wonderful city of Buenos Aires and in the oldest neighbourhood of San Telmo.

This is an English style Colonial apartment with 16 feet high ceiling.

The large master bedroom with Queen size bed is away from the street noise and has:
- windows opening to a patio on either side
- flat screen TV
- air condition (which can cool the whole apartment if needed)

Large full bathroom next to the master bedroom also has
- a window opening to the patio.

There is a Half bathroomup the stairs in the second patio which can be used if needed.

Kitchen is small but comfortable and fully equipped. It has a door and window opening to the back patio.

Combined Living room and dining room has
- a lovely well maintained and tuned piano,
- extra sleeping facilities for guests in the living room (2 single beds)
- a ceiling fan.

There is a laundry machine in the apartment, but no dryer. Clothes can be hung out in the patios to dry. There is also a laundromat few blocks away in needed.

The architectural design of the building and the material used keep the apartment cool, quiet, and very secure (Buenos Aires is a very noisy city!)
The inner two patios and many windows provide a nice breeze and air circulation.

Of course there is wifi!
And weekly cleaning!!

The apartment is only couple of blocks to Plaza Dorrego, which is the heart of San Telmo.

The neighbourhood as quoted in NY Times:
"The enclave of the moment is San Telmo, a young, hip urban scene with a thriving arts community and a strong ex-pat community... The neighborhood is dotted with fine restaurants, bars, boutiques and colonial houses." - NY Times

We rented Nadia's apartment for over a month sight unseen, based on the exchange we had with her and the photos.Nadia's good taste and concern for the well being of her guests were confirmed during our stay. Whenever we had a question or concern Nadia was very responsive and did her utmost to make sure we enjoyed the apartment and the neighborhood, which we did. The furniture is lovely and there is attention paid to aesthetic details. We slept well in the comfortable quiet bedroom. There is a very large mirror in the bedroom and throughout the apartment, adding to the sense of space. I often came home late alone or with my husband and we never felt unsafe and the month went by without any unpleasant incidents. We cooked at home a lot and the kitchen was very handy. Unfortunately the apartment is on the ground floor and long, as is common in Buenos Aires, and only the livingroom has a large window to the outside, other rooms open up to small internal patios. The advantage of the bedroom far from the street is being able to sleep without city noise, very important in Buenos Aires, especially if you enjoy the wonderful tango night life and need to sleep late in the morning. I spent a month at Nadia's fantastic place in San Telmo and it is absolutely perfect for a sabbatical visit. It is in an old stone building so it's quite and offers a wonderful atmosphere for writing. In the hot days the two small indoor patios create a breeze so it never gets too hot. The place is clean, neat and tastfully decorated.

When in need for a break, the area is bustling with energy with cafes, quirky bars, restuaurants, shops, museums, parks - you name it. It's low key, people are friendly. A bit noisy on Sundays when the weekly parade takes off with drumming throughout the day. So if you're there on a Sunday, do NOT waste the day writing. Go out and enjoy the street market and the crowd! It's priceless.

Nadia is a wonderful host. Attentive, warm, responsive and extremely generous. Communication is crystal clear.

Dear Nadia,

A belated but heartfelt THANKS for the marvelous experience of having stayed a few years ago in your tasteful, comfy and cozy apartment in the heart of San Telmo. Special thanks for the caring way in which you pointed me to the right places, friends, events in the tango community. It made all the difference between being a tourist and feeling the city's pulse from an inhabitant's perspective. Even though I know Spanish and am originally from Argentina, I found your know-how invaluable --up to date and precisely what I needed. I also thank you for having contacted me there with wonderful people who remain my friends to this day. You are a jewel, Nadia, and you attract likewise with your open friendliness, genuine care and human warmth. May happiness continue to surround you! Veronica

Spent a lovely month in this charming flat in San Telmo. Many lovely restaurants within a few blocks. Almost next door to a tango/milonga venue. Tango dance teacher offers classes within 2 blocks of the apartment and many lovely bars and out door spots to spend an evening watching life pass you by. Buses which run right past the house are really convenient for seeing other parts of the city - although the taxis are not expensive either. All in all a lovely spot to relax and see the real BA! This property looks great in the photos but it has some problems. The neighbourhood is not as safe as the rest of San Telmo, although it is nice to be near a big park and several very good restaurants. The owner was reluctant to deal with wear and tear issues, so that I had no overhead light or bedside lights in the bedroom starting from the second week, and could not open the living room blind for 6 weeks. I was expected to arrange for repairs, and Nadia tried to blame each problem on me. The apartment wasn't properly cleaned for my arrival, so I had to have it done by my own cleaner. And beware the fact that the building is not soundproof, especially between the bedroom and the one in the adjoining apartment. The kitchen is poorly equipped. When I gave Nadia list of basics that are missing, her response was that she would look into it when she was in BsAs! I think that this place is OK for a short term stay, but a long term tenant will have problems getting things put right. Ron Smyth, Toronto Excellent Ron Smyth 5/2/2013 5:24:00 PM
