The Hive Graffiti Apartment

The Hive Graffiti Apartments is a building inspired by street art and hip hop culture. A concrete graffiti relief façade complete with arrows, swooshes and drips has been knitted into the existing heritage brick shell of an old Carlton shop. This building is the first in a trilogy of street art architecture by ITN Architects. The interior has been shaped by the expressive hip hop language of the façade, remnants of the existing brickwork, beehive patterned travertine floors and a designer furniture selection.

The ground floor apartment is available for short stay rental. The apartment is 3 minutes walk (650 metres) from Melbourne University. It is also walking distance to Australian Catholic University, RMIT and other academic institutions located in Melbourne CBD. This spacious 75 sqm one bedroom apartment can easily convert into two bedrooms with a sofa bed and privacy screen. Complete with a 1970's Bang & Olufson hi-fi system and record player, you can enjoy Melbourne from this inner city street-art haven!

Carlton is a suburb of Melbourne 2 km north from the central business district. The suburb is well known for its "Little Italy" precinct on Lygon Street, for its Victorian architecture and its garden squares including the Carlton Gardens. It is situated nearby to Melbourne's many academic institutions and art attractions.

Located in the heart of Carlton on Rathdowne St, the apartment is directly opposite to the popular Beaufort Pub and walking distance to shops, restaurants and Melbourne nightlife. Tram and bus stops to the CBD are 2 minutes walk away.

The architect of the Hive Graffiti Apartments lives in the upstairs apartment and is available to chat to guests about the design of the building.

Double glazed windows installed.

Parking can be arranged for an additional fee in a secure basement.

No smoking inside. Smoking allowed in the patio area.

Pets allowed.
