All-inclusive rental in modernized downtown 1860 Halifax house

All utilities, internet, TV, parking, fully furnished and outfitted household - walk in with your suitcases. Owners live next door to facilitate easy move-in and adjustment to Halifax winters. Previous reviews may be seen on AirBnB listing 'Downtown Halifax House'. This is a two and a half story semi-detached house recently renovated with sound-proofing into a modern open-area design but with heritage features such as original brick-work and three-floor stair banister. The second floor includes the main bedroom with queen bed and large double sliding doors to make it an open or private space. Additionally there is the main bath, laundry, and den with patio door to the deck overlooking the back garden. The third floor is a delightful open beam loft-type bedroom with its own on-suite toilet and shower.
Located just below just Citadel Hill in Halifax, this is an opportunity to live in one of the hottest up and coming neighbourhoods in Canada according to Huff Post. Only a short walk to hospitals, Dal, water front, Irving ship yard and a block or two to new pubs, restaurants, french bakery .

About Me
I am a retired Canadian Air Force pilot, MSc engineer by training, and former assistant professor at the Royal Military College of Canada. My wife, Leslie, a nurse, and I, both University of Alberta grads, have lived in six provinces, lived and travelled widely in Europe and the US and hiked and camped in Nunavut and Greenland. We moved to Nova Scotia in 2010 and renovated an old house here. Six years ago, we bought the derelict house attached to ours and three years ago finished renovating and restoring it for rental. It is presently rented May - Oct 2019 and we are hoping to rent it to sabbatical travellers after that, dates being somewhat flexible.

If this home sounds like what you are looking for, it will far exceed your expectations!! Its location is one of the vibiest and most hip neighbourhoods in the city with the best bakeries, breweries and restaurants a short stroll away but in a very peaceful street a couple blocks away from the Halifax common. The home itself is absolutely gorgeous, renovated recently by the owners themselves with beautiful craftmanship, attention to detail and style. But the absolute highlight will be getting to know Bill and Leslie, the owners who live next door. They are such a special couple who will ensure you have a comfortable stay in their beautiful home and feel very much part of their community. They are extremely thoughtful, always available for a quick chat or a local tip but never intrusive. They are the best neighbours you could ask for!! Excellent Richard Spence 3/20/2019 6:09:00 PM
