Welcoming Amsterdam apartment with a garden house study.

Located in de Baarsjes in Amsterdam West with quick access to Amsterdam campuses. Ten minutes from Lelylaan train station with easy connections to all other universities in the Netherlands and Schiphol airport (10 minutes by taxi, 20 minutes by public transit).

The apartment is on the ground floor of a housing unit built in the Amsterdam Style and completely renovated in 2008. The recent addition of a glass-fronted garden house with a fireplace makes a lovely reading room and study. The apartment is perfectly suited to friends, couples and small families, having both a double bedroom and a comfortable pull out couch in the living room, which can be closed off, if desired. Infant travel cot and high chair available. Washing machine, dishwasher, fully equipped kitchen and espresso coffee machine.

The spacious garden with eating areas includes a gas barbeque. Bounded by canals, the neighbourhood is green, quiet, residential and family-friendly with many children’s playparks.

Walking distance to shops, markets, gyms, cafés, restaurants and De Hallen cinemas https://dehallen-amsterdam.nl. Bicycles are included. The extremely accessible tram, bus, metro and train connections make for a fantastic variety of outings. Minutes from the Rembrandt and Vondel Parks, with forested walking and running paths, and the centre of Amsterdam.

About Me
My husband and I moved from Canada to Amsterdam in 2006 - for a couple of years - or so we thought. Amsterdam is now home. My studies and career in the cultural sector began in Canada and later included nine years as Director of the European Cultural Foundation in Amsterdam. I am currently Cultural Leader in Residence for the Cultural Leadership Research Master Programme in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Groningen where I will be spending the coming few years completing a PhD that links my experience in practice with the academic world. Discovering places and people unknown has always been a part of our family's life and we continue to travel - either on our own or with some our children and grandchildren.
