114 SqM Apt in Century Old Building in Historic Budapest Jewish District

We are centrally located within the historic Jewish ghetto, in an Art Nouveau building that dates back to 1898. Our rooms are spacious and sunny, with high ceilings and elegant woodwork. We two guest rooms that are comfortable as doubles, or can be combined to sleep up to 7 persons. If need be, you can use the master bedroom for an additional two people. We are on the 4th floor with an elevator and lots of light coming in an abundant number of windows.

The apartment is within 2 blocks of the metro, trams, Hop On/Hop Off buses, and city buses. City orientation is easy and transportation passes can be purchased across the street during work hours or at the metro 1 1/2 blocks away. Budapest city transportation is renowned for its efficiency and comfort. We are on metro stop from Keleti Train Station and three tram stops from Nyugati Train Station.

You can easily walk to some of the university campuses, the Danube River, Opera House, Parliament, Castle Hill, and many museums, theaters, and cafes. We have welcomed guests for nearly 10 years.

About Me
My husband and I planned to travel for a year before returning to the US. After months of travel, during a cold winter in 2001, we decided to wait for spring in Budapest, Hungary. We have been here since. I started teaching at Eötvös Loránd University, Department of American Studies in 2002 and retired from there at the end of 2014. Additionally, I was a Frommer's travel guide author and continue to do some freelance work. We have traveled to six continents: 69 countries, since 1993. We do not return to the US often. We prefer to explore new cities and countries abroad through home exchange or house and/or pet sitting.
