The house is in a quiet residential street just off the high street in Leytonstone, an up and coming neighbourhood in East London and the birthplace of both Alfred Hitchcock and David Beckham. It is very close to a range of shops, cafés and restaurants, including excellent local Turkish, Thai and Indian restaurants, a great café and bookshop, a new Italian deli and wine shop, as well as a local pub with a wide selection of craft beers. It’s also a five minute walk to the open spaces of Wanstead Flats and Epping Forest, good for walking and running.
It has really good transport links. Both the underground and overground stations are just a few minutes’s walk away. The underground (Central Line - now running through the night) will get you to Queen Mary University of London in 10 minutes, and to King’s, LSE, UCL, Birkbeck, SOAS, the British Library and the West End in 30 minutes. The overground will get you to Hampstead Heath in 30 minutes. The Stratford Westfield Shopping Centre and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (including Zaha Hadid’s Aquatic Centre for keen swimmers) are just two stops (less than 10 minutes) away on the Central Line. Stansted Airport, with numerous connections to European destinations, is a half hour drive. City Airport is 30 minutes by public transport. There is on-street parking for residents.
