Sleek Remodeled Apt in 1920s Bldg in Paris 14th

Calm, quiet, sunny apartment located on the 5th fl (with elevator) of a secure 1920s bldg in a convenient residential area of the 14th. The apt overlooks a tranquil, urban green belt (see Petite Ceinture) and offers an unobstructed view of the rooftops across the 14th.

Totally remodeled apartment -- fully furnished, fully equipped kitchen with all appliances (including washer/dryer), bathroom, parquet flooring, tiling in kitchen and bath. Cabinets/closets and recessed track lighting. Japanese-style opaque sliding doors between the bedroom/sleeping area and the living/dining/office area. The sliding doors can be opened to create a separate, private sleeping area or hidden in the wall to join the living and sleeping areas in one open space. Futon in the bedroom. Convertible sofa in the living room. High-speed internet, cable TV, printer, unlimited intl calls to US and Europe. Cleaning service included once a month. No additional charges.

Located in a typical Parisian neighborhood. Tramway station Jean Moulin (the tramway circles Paris) and bus 58 (takes you from Pont Neuf to the doorstep). Metro 4 station Porte d'Orléans (stops at Montparnasse, St-Michel, Île de la Cité, etc.) 5 min walk. Bldg is convenient to shops, restaurants, cafes, etc, but apt itself faces a quiet side street -- the best of both worlds.

Ideal for a professor seeking a quiet place to write. (Owner is a retired professor who lives in Paris part time and offers his apartment to academic colleagues when he is not in Paris. This is my home, not a commercial property.)

This is a wonderful place to stay short or long term - it is comfortable and well-equipped and very easy to maintain. It is quiet and bright with a great view towards the trees of the Petite Ceinture. The owner, David, is very helpful and responsive and just generally kind and correct person. I enjoyed my 1-month stay very much. Excellent Penka 11/9/2020 2:39:00 AM
Nice apartment with very nice landlord. I would choose it any time again. Excellent Jenny 2/22/2019 7:43:00 AM
I very much enjoyed spending 3 ½ month in this bright, modern and very well-equipped apartment. I don’t want to repeat what all others wrote, but want to mention that all they wrote is true and perfectly describes not only the apartment but also the location. The apartment as well as the building itself is very clean and safe. A nice doorman takes care of the mail and even delivers it to the apartment. The owner himself is very well organized, friendly, helpful and uncomplicated. He is always available for contact by email and quickly responds. This studio is a great place to stay, I can only recommend it. Excellent Gitte 8/28/2018 10:34:00 AM
Very comfortable and clever little apartment convenient to all the amenities and in a good quiet neighborhood. Good for writing, walking, close to all transit options. Owner is gracious and responsive if anything comes up, provides helpful guide to neighborhood. My 12 weeks there were wonderful and I'd rent it again; I recommend this experience. I spent an 8-month sabbatical (2015-16) very happily in this bright, well-appointed studio. It had been totally remodeled quite recently and was impeccably maintained. Ingenious design includes very generous storage space, even room for big luggage. Everything is new and works. I enjoyed cooking in the well-ventilated kitchen. The whole place has a crisp, clean design I found soothing. Nice desk space by a large window; in fact windows also in bath and kitchen. Good lighting options for reading at all hours, plenty of outlets for your electronics. The building is charming and very well maintained, a quiet environment, lovely view from each window. Pleasant, safe neighborhood with everything you need within walking distance. I enjoyed the colorful streetmarket twice a week and even a good flea market on weekends. I found the location convenient for transportation. (Loved the new tram line that goes to the National Library, but also enjoyed access to Metro, buses, and very easy access to both airports--public transport to your streetcorner!). The owner is very well organized and a pleasure to deal with; he provides a handy and thorough guide for guests. I highly recommend this studio for a sabbatical or for a visit. The sofa bed is quite comfortable and easy to deploy if you need the extra sleeping space, and you can get a modicum of privacy with sliding translucent doors to privatize the futon area.
