Pasadena, California mid-century gem
Historic mid-century modern designed by Richard Neutra: the Perkins House, 1955. Nestled in the San Rafael Hills, it offers spectacular views of the San Gabriel mountains from the living room and kitchen. The house has one bedroom, bathroom with tub/shower, well equipped kitchen, study/3 work space, living room, daybed alcove, and lots of natural light. Most of the furnishings date from the original owner, including the coffee table that converts to a dining table that comfortably seats 8 (designed by Neutra). The yard is fenced and will contain a small dog that does not wish to escape. It's a comfortable haven for two people and the occasional overnight guest using the day bed. Ten minutes by car to Cal Tech (25 minutes by bike); 15 minutes to the Huntington Library (35 minutes by bike). 25 minutes to USC. Downtown LA is car and metro close. The house offers indoor/outdoor California living at its best.
