This is an excellent apartment for people who want to experience living in Rome.

The apartment is everything it is advertised to be. As the owner’s statement notes, it is in an art nouveau building in the part of the old Jewish Ghetto that was rebuilt at the turn of the 20th Century. The building has a lovely substantial feeling. The apartment’s windows look over the busy avenue running along the Tiber. The entrance to the building is across the street from the famous Great Synagogue of Rome, another charming art nouveau monument.

The kitchen is well equipped; the rooms are spacious, bright and clean; the owner is warm and businesslike. Francesco gave us good information to get us going and let us know how to reach him should we need anything. A grocery store, bakeries and meat shops, as well as one of Rome’s good market squares, are within 10 minutes’ walk. The owner left recommendations for good local restaurants which proved accurate.

The location is urban so expect lots of traffic – that is part of the buzz of Rome. The glazing in the apartment is very good and we found that even at rush hour – when every motor bike and ambulance in town seems to be in motion -- the sound was kept out.

This apartment was an important part of our good time in Rome.
