Beautiful Room on Bus Line Direct to Harvard Square

Room for rent to a woman in a safe, quiet, residential neighborhood of Watertown. It's on the 71 bus line to Harvard Square (10 minutes). The bus stops right across the street. With the owner (who is the only other person living in the apartment), you'i\'ll share the use of the living room (with a TV,) the all-season sun room, the dining room, the kitchen. The half bath is yours alone.. You'll share the full bath for showers. In nice weather, you share the use of a porch for sitting and reading or just lounging. There is a window air conditioner in your room in the summer.
Your bedroom is 10' x 12' with a new twin bed and mattress, a desk, a rocker/recliner, and a full private closet. There are 3 spacious drawers under the bed. Large items, like suitcases can be stored in a clean basement room. You'll share the use of the basement washer and dryer with the owner.

You should like dogs, since I have a small, well-behaved Sheltie, who is quiet and unobtrusive. Also, I occasionally board one other small dog.

Furnishing, linens, towels, and dishes are provided. Just bring your suitcase! The owner is female and is looking for a female tenant.

This party posted the following feedback for me:
'Susan, my partner, has gone to a great deal of trouble to make the bedroom in her lovely apartment inviting and comfortable for a housemate. Her apartment is cozy and right across the street from the bus to Harvard Square, from which you can get a direct subway to MIT, Mass General Hospital, and downtown Boston. Susan is a very thoughtful housemate and will make your stay as pleasant as possible. You will have a great sabbatical there.'

About Me
I was born in Goshen, New York and grew up in the New York City suburb of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. I received my BA in French Language and Literature from New York University, and a Ph.D. in Romance Languages from Yale University. After graduate school, I joined the faculty at UMass, Boston where I stayed for 13 years, with visiting professorships at Brown University and Wheaton College. I left UMass, Boston to accept a position in Human Resources and Organizational Developement at Digital Equipment Corporation, where I led major change efforts having to do with adapting technology innovation to the rapidly evolving business climate. After Digital was bought by Compaq Computer, and Hewlett Packard in turn acquired Compaq, I accepted a severance package and started my own business in a totally unrelated field. A lifelong dog lover, I opened a dog daycare and grooming business that is still going strong. It's managed by someone I hired. My life partner is the Kraft-Hiatt Professor Emerita of Christian Studies and Women's and Gender Studies at Brandeis University, and the founding director of the Feminist Sexual Ethics Project there. I've lived and worked in New York, Paris, San Francisco, and Boston. A lover of things French, I visit Paris whenever possible; however I also have a passion for the fate of the exploitively developed countries of the Caribbean basin, particularly Central America. My detective fiction is set in the context of social and economic problems in those countries. On my bucket list for travel are the African savannah, Madagascar, the French South Pacific, and anywhere in the Middle East. My current intellectual interest is the world of Islam which I'm learning about at HILR and at the Harvard FAS. I live in Watertown with my Sheltie, Shuki.
