I just moved to DC and needed a short-term lease while I get my bearings. This home has been amazing! It's a REALLY great deal--spacious, great light, well-appointed, comfortable. Easy street parking (I'm from NY, this was EASY). Walking to groceries, library, post office, the best bookstore ever, restaurants, movie theater, and more. Easy access to bus, Metro, and beltway. The best part is Donna. She is flexible and thoughtful, and just an all-around nice person. The apartment is well-maintained, and any minor repairs (and they were indeed minor) were repaired promptly. I can't say enough about what a great situation this has been for me. Don't pass this one up!

Our experience with this home and with Donna are 100% consistent with the previous reviewers. Our experience has been excellent and we consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to make this our home for a year.
We are both on sabbatical at Georgetown University and we have a middle school-aged daughter, who participates in theatre and dance activities in nearby Bethesda. Thus, the location has been ideal for us. The apartment situated in a lovely part of the city. Quiet, easy to walk to the Safeway, Starbucks, public library, boutiques, toy store, restaurants, all in a very pleasant commercial district right on Connecticut Ave.
Off-street parking for one car is provided, which is a major plus!
Parking for an additional car is available with a 6-month (and fairly expensive) visitor permit from the city, or about 4 blocks away in a non-zoned area. Public transportation is as convenient as the other reviewers posted. Share bikes are available at nearby Safeway, which makes for an easy trip to the Metro station.
The daily bicycle commute to Georgetown University is very feasible, enjoyable and relatively safe for most of the year. A short ride through a residential neighborhood reaches the Capital Crescent Trail, which goes right down to Georgetown and up to Bethesda. Plan on about 45 minutes each way.
The house is fully furnished, so all you need is a suitcase. We brought many of our own things, which was fine too. Donna has been very flexible.
Rooms are all spacious and well lit and nicely furnished and we have appreciated the artwork.
Convenient indoor parking for a bicycle in an entry room at the back door has been a huge plus which would not have been available at most apartments.
Donna has been very helpful and has responded to all of our minor maintenance issues immediately and cheerfully.
Wifi has been fast and reliable.
Garden and property are well tended and beautiful.
In summary, we have had a wonderful year and highly recommend this apartment.

I initially contacted Donna to rent her basement apartment for me and my daughter, and after a few exchanges ended up moving in with her to the main floor, because Donna was very understanding of our needs and limitations in terms of convenient, affordable housing. The house is very beautiful, decorated with very good taste, in a pleasant neighborhood, with almost literally forests in the backyard, so that although you are very close to the city life you still get the appreciation of nature. My 15-year old daughter and I stayed with Donna for five months, from August to December 2017, and we greatly enjoyed the experience of a co-habitation that was easygoing, collaborative and also respectful of privacy and individual character. Although we stayed in the main floor, we also visited the basement, being friendly with the tenants there, and it is even more spacious than the photos suggest.
Supermarkets and groceries, a fabulous bookstore (Politcs and Prose) are in walking distance. There are buses going down Wisconsin Ave and to Georgetown (also a bike trail) and the red line metro (Friendship Heights) is 15 min walking distance.
The highlight is really the landlady, who since the beginning did her best to integrate us, giving us precious indications about schools and banks and even bureaucratic requirements. We could not have found a better temporary home in DC and I strongly recommend the experience.

We (2 adults, one child) rented this appartment for six months, from September to March. It has been a wonderful experience. The appartment is spacious, with two large bedrooms, a very comfortable living room, a spacious kitchen (perfect for family meals) and a convenient bathroom. The appartment is fully equipped and although it is at the lower level, it gets lot of sunlight. The neighborhood is safe and very beautiful and perfet for walking and running. Supermarkets and groceries, D.C.'s only nonprofit cinema, starbucks and a few restaurants etc. are in walking distance (5min), so that is very convenient. there are buses going to Georgetown (also a bike trail) and the red line metro stations (Friendship Heights, Tenleytown) are 15 min walking distance away. I walked almost every day. Donna is a super nice, kind and helpful person--we surely miss her! Overall, this is a great pleace with a very good value for the money. I warmly recommend it.
