A perfect room for a professional person near the University. Shared use of the whole house with the single owner and sole other resident on the property: a retired scholar/writer/teacher. The room has a big closet, two chests of drawers, bookcases, single bed and two windows: one overlooks Thornden Park; the other offers a wide view over the campus and the city beyond. Linens provided. A guest needs nothing but their own personal effects. In addition to the full bath there are half-bathrooms on ground floor and another by the laundry room. It is a clean and quiet home that can be shared in all respects. Features include a screened-in porch and lovely garden. The house is a gracious old structure kept in tip-top condition. Everything works well. Heat and air conditioning controlled by room. I do ask that my guest shovel the steps down to the street in winter and carry trash bins to the street for weekly pick-up. The house is a very short walk from campus and close to bus stops but it is a hill-top site. The neighborhood is generally quiet and tidy although students rent houses on the streets nearby. Once packed with books, our home was fully re-dec0rated after the collection was shipped away. Dozens of improvements and replacements have brought the property to a high standard. I hire a cleaning lady when I am in residence but am away a lot. In fact, I am traveling in Europe but have word my tenant of seven years is retiring this summer. The pictures currently shown are out of date buthere I can supply better on request from my phone. It is a comfortable old home, finely furnished and rather elegant in The Georgian style including original old paintings and prints, We have a spinet harpsichord but no other devices for entertainment. We do have high-speed internet. The kitchen is large and kept in immaculate condition. I share the fridge and everything one needs for cooking, dining, cleaning and laundry. It is a lovely setting for dinner parties. I do not have a driveway. .
