Flat Description We are renting a 2 bedroom, 1 bath flat beginning in August 2024 for the academic semester ending December 2024. The apartment is the lower half of a house in West Berkeley, three miles from the UC Berkeley campus. There are two bedrooms with queen beds - each includes a closet, desk, and chair. There is a kitchen with a table for four, a living room and one full bath. The unit is fully furnished (new linens in each room, dishes, etc.) with amenities including a gas stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, washer/dryer, street parking, and a shared patio. All utilities and high-speed internet are included. The flat is ideal for academics, temporary visitors, or for those renovating their house and needing interim housing. This is a non-smoking unit. The neighborhood has many restaurants and cafes and is a few blocks from the Amtrak train station and the 4th Street shopping district. The number 36 bus goes to Berkeley BART and UC Berkeley every 30 minutes - a 15-minute ride. Transportation to San Francisco is nearby including an express bus, freeway access for driving, and several BART stations that can be reached by walking, bike, or bus. A bike-share station is two blocks away and shared electric scooters are sometimes found within a block or two. There are two full-service grocery stores (Berkeley Bowl West and Mi Tierra) within several blocks – plus a well-stocked corner store at the end of the street. We are a family of three women living upstairs, actively managing the property in addition to working from home. We have a flock of chickens and two outdoor cats, so additional pets are not a fit.
