Spacious Home in Upstate NY

Hi! We are two academics going on sabbatical, and we're looking for someone to rent our home while we are gone! We have a well-maintained home in a very safe and friendly area of Albany, New York. About the Home. We have a three bedroom (can be four bedrooms if needed), 2 1/2 bathroom house in the Buckingham Pond area of Albany. It has a tankless hot water system, and radiator heat. Each full bathroom has a shower and a tub, including a large soaking tub in the master bath. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, and the other bedrooms each have a full size bed. There are two spaces being used/available as office spaces--one is upstairs and private, the other is downstairs off the livingroom. There is a dining area off the kitchen, and two common areas. The house has a washer, dryer, and dishwasher, as well as 2 AC units and 2 fireplaces. The property has a small, landscaped backyard with a large deck. We have off street parking in a very safe, and low traffic street. Our neighbors are all professionals and/or retirees, and families with young children. About the area. We are conveniently located near the public bus route #13 stop, 3 different public library branches, and biking distance to downtown and several parks. We are less than 2 hours from the Adirondack Mountains, Berkshire Mountains, and Catskill Mountains, and near Lake George. This area of New York is extremely desirable for skiers -- downhill and cross-country -- in the winter. Guests are welcome to use our snowshoes and/or micro-spikes for winter hiking. We are also near several waterways for fishing, boating, swimming, and kayaking--guests are welcome to use our kayaks, and can use our car to transport them. We are also near several state parks for camping--guests are welcome to use our camping supplies, too. We're walking distance to a municipal golf course, and guests are welcome to use our golf clubs (two sets). Why Stay Here? Our house is perfect for anyone on sabbatical, be it a family or an individual. The area is quiet and respectful to allow you to focus on your sabbatical work. The house/area is quiet to allow you to focus, but is also a very short trip to a few local and independently owned coffee shops and/or library branches if you want to work in the world. When you're not working, Albany has incredible opportunities for fun and relaxation from countless microbreweries, cideries, and distilleries, to indoor and outdoor rock climbing, hiking, skiing, and the like. There are adult and youth recreation sport leagues for softball, kickball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and golf, to name a few, for all levels. There are numerous art galleries, and museums (free passes available!)--including art centers and maker spaces for you to join if you want to take a class. There are a host of festivals in the area year round. These events are all family friendly. There are minor league sports in the area (Adirondack Thunder Hockey, Tri-City Valleycats Baseball, Albany Firewolves lacrosse). Albany is a also a great city of you love music - we have many venues that bring in all sorts of musical and live performances (Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Troy Music Hall, The Egg, Tanglewood, etc.). Also, New York is a certified Sanctuary State for LGBTQ individuals. Because of the number of universities and tech companies in the area, Albany is a very highly educated city and - as the state capital - very progressive. Albany and the Capital District is a vibrant, inspiring, safe, welcoming, and friendly place to be. We were not entirely sure what to expect when we first moved to Albany, but we are absolutely in love with this area. We are certain you will fall in love with this home and this area in your short stay here!
