Description
Our sunny third floor, South facing flat with home office/second bedroom in an art deco block has views through trees across London. Close to Hampstead Heath and Highgate Woods as well as the famous Highgate cemetery it is a perfect retreat from the city. Crouch End and Highgate village with a range of shops, cafes, bars, cinemas and restaurants are both a few minutes away. Waterlow park, 'a garden for those without gardens' is at the end of the road, with its tennis courts, cafe and kids play areas. Lauderdale House hosts jazz, exhibitions, and community activities for families. Hampstead swimming ponds are a walk away as is Parliament Hill with its spectacular views across London. The building is accessible, with lifts and communal gardens. Washer/drier, dishwasher , oven and hob in the kitchen, and a new bathroom with overhead shower and bath. Cutlery, crockery, sheets, towels all supplied. Internet and TV included. One double bedroom and a second single bedroom which can be used as home office, second bedroom or child's room. The flat is in London travel zone 2 and is serviced by Haringey Council. While the communal areas are due for renovation, (communal corridors a bit tired-looking, don't be put off!) the foyer was recently updated and makes an attractive entrance. Bus outside runs regularly to the nearest Northern Line tube station with quick connections to the universities, the British Library and the British museum. Whittington Hospital is five minutes walk. There is a friendly community in the building. As a writer I appreciate having a pleasing environment within which to work and as a grandparent am also happy to adapt the second bedroom for children.
