During the school year we live in Muncie, IN (home of Ball State University). For a month or two each summer we return to Evanston (home of Northwestern University). We are flexible regarding when we go back and forth, and are happy to work with other academics, graduate students, etc, who need to negotiate start and end dates due to contracts, sabbaticals, academic schedules, etc. Evanston is immediately north of the Chicago city boundaries. It is famous for its ecological sustainability, progressive social programs, beautifully maintained lakeshore, art scene, food scene, and natural beauty. It is served by all of the Chicago public transit systems, including the METRA rail, which gets you downtown Chicago in 20 minutes on the express, and the "L" purple line, which connects to the red line, which will take you to Wrigley Field, the Art Institute, etc., and connects to all other trains.
