This is the home of two writer musicians. And 3 cats. If you’re allergic to cats then please don’t apply. Stroll to bakeries and cafes. Or cook at home in the huge kitchen. Work in the two office spaces then hang out on the balcony. With two TVs connected to Apple and Netflix, you can chillax with some take-out sushi. This large, 3-story home is located between trendy Shibuya, Shinjuku and Nakano Stations. We welcome pets, but if you have a cat allergy you may not want to stay here. There are state of the art Litter Robot cat toilets on every floor. The house was built in 2012 using passive solar design and is all electric. The toilets use captured rain water from the 6000-liter underground tank. Did you know that Nakano-Shinbashi Station nearby was featured in the James Bond movie Dr. No (Tiger Tanaka's transport hub!)? There are 2 bedrooms, a huge living room and massive kitchen which open onto a private garden deck. Yes, the kitchen is way too big! This entire house is available for rental. The owners are writers and musicians and you will love the treasure trove of books. The kitchen is well stocked - help yourself to tea, coffee or frozen croissants! ** Highlights ** The house is 140 sq meters with very spacious rooms that will suit a couple and two kids. Features two separate remote working stations. Three floors (one in the basement) means you can practice music and sing and not disturb the neighbors. Just a 30-minute walk to the iconic Park Hyatt Shinjuku Hotel featured in the movie Lost in Translation. Walking distance to the Marunouchi subway line, this quiet family home allows you to relax in peace, set back from busy streets. Jonathans Family restaurant and diner is 2 minutes walk away and open 24 hours. The fully stocked kitchen is a chef’s dream. Scores of cute restaurants that are welcoming to visitors and first timers offering great menus in English at very reasonable prices. Convenience stores and supermarkets are within an easy walk. Included is fast unlimited WiFi internet for business travelers or heavy-gaming teens. ** Bedding ** 1 queen sized bed comfortably fits two adults 2 x single futon for adult or children ** Services & Amenities ** The kitchen is equipped with a full-size dishwasher, induction cook top, oven, microwave, toaster, fridge, kettle, pans, cooking utensils, plus crockery and cutlery. We include complimentary coffee and tea. There is also a Japanese wash/drying-machine and everything you need for a relaxing and extended stay. There are two TVs - one in the bedroom and one in the living room that have Apple TV and Netflix. There are air-conditioners on each floor and in the small office off the living area to keep you comfy. All the utilities are included. Please note there is only one bathroom (with a shower only) but two toilets. All essentials like soap, shampoo & conditioner, toilet paper, towels and linens are included. A weekly cleaner is included in your stay. She comes for 4 hours and cleans the whole house and irons your clothes too, along with washing all your bedding and towels. In the utility/laundry room, feel free to use the elliptical trainer or lift some kettlebell weights. In the living room, stretch out and do some yoga together on the complimentary yoga mats. High-speed WiFi internet is inside the house. There is plenty of space for if you have large luggage-just pop it under the stairs or in the store room. We are happy to recommend out of the way places and local knowledge of our combined 67 years living in Tokyo. ** Neighbourhood ** The house is in a quiet and safe street only 8 minutes walk from either Nakano-Fujimicho or Nakano-Shimbashi stations. Maybe catch the local bus into Shinjuku, Nakano or Shibuya, or treat yourself to a taxi. It costs less than ¥2000. There are two amazing French bakeries nearby and the local restaurants are kind to foreigners.
