Family friendly 3br 2.5ba retreat in the heart of Cambridge

We are a family of four planning to travel abroad and looking for a family that will enjoy our home while we are gone as much as we do while we are here. Our home was built by renowned local designer David Aposhian as his own residence where he lived for two decades after building it in 1999. The home is crafted from reclaimed cedar sourced from the historical Riverside Press, and the expansive garden includes 7 dawn redwoods, each soaring more than 40 feet above the terrace. The combined effect of the landscaping and architecture is to create the feeling of a remote cabin, nestled in the heart of Cambridge and anchored in the history of this location. We love the location, right next to the Charles River and a fantastic path for biking, running and walking. There are five parks within a 6 minute walk, on top of the lovely and extensive private garden that surrounds our home. We're a short walk to Harvard, MIT and BU, with both a Whole Foods and Trader Joes within a quarter mile and the many restaurants and coffee shops of Cambridge all around us. The redline in Central is a 10 minute walk and if you do need to travel beyond Cambridge, we have a 2022 Rav4 Prime that we're open to renting with our home, a private garage to house it and an additional private guest parking spot included. Our home will come fully furnished, with a king bed, a queen bed, a twin bed, two cribs (if desired) and two additional twin mattresses (if desired). We have four bedrooms, though we plan to store our belongings in the smallest of them, so three will be available for you and your family. We have two full bathrooms, one with a standard shower/bathtub, the other with a walk-in shower paved with a mosaic of river stones. We also have a half bathroom on the first floor. We have fantastic neighbors, many with young children like ours. Our home is part of a Home Owners Association which provides landscaping, snow removal and other maintenance activities. Close friends of ours bought one of the other units in this HOA and they will be available if needed to help you get oriented on the neighborhood. We are looking for a responsible family or couple that will take good care of our home and create new memories here to build on the happy history of this home.
