Located in the heart of Nippes, the cosy-trendy and diverse neighbourhood of Cologne, the apartment offers everything for individuals, pairs, and families up to four people. A spacious living room with a comfy couch that sleeps 2, a cosy, light-filled kitchen, a large bedroom, balcony, and a spare room that is currently a study. The place is perfect for writing, enjoying the city, and discovering any number of libraries, museums, and parks in and around Cologne. The location of the apartment is virtually unbeatable: Nippes is a bustling neighbourhood that proudly hosts the only daily open-air market in Germany. joust around the corner, you'd find fresh produce, cheese, veggies, fish, meat, and Greek and Turkish specialities every day, Monday to Saturday. On Sundays, the market square becomes a playground for the neighbourhood kids, with their parents enjoying the offering of the nearby cafes. Once a month, the Nippes Flea-Market takes over the square drawing bargain-hunters from across town. A five minutes walk from the apartment takes you to multiple parks and diverse highstreet shopping, while a twenty minutes walk brings you to the beautiful promenade on the river Rhein, the city zoo, and to Cologne's hidden jewel -- the botanical gardens. Extremely well-connected in terms of public transportation, the nearest tram stations are under five minutes walk. With the tram you are 10 minutes away from the famous Cologne Cathedral, the Central Train Station, and the iconic Old Town on the river bank. 20 minutes ride take you to the going-out, entertainment, and nightlife hubs in the Latin and Belgian Quarters and to the party-quarter Ehrenfeld. In close proximity to all of these but quiet and homy, Nippes is rapidly becoming one of the the most sought-after locations in town. Home to a bustling art scene, the world-famous Ludwig Museum, and Germany's largest university, Cologne really offers everything that a cosmopolitan European metropolis is expected to offer -- and Paris, Amsterdam, and Brussels are just 3 hours away by intercity express trains. We are two academics living and working in universities in Cologne. We are offering our cosy and pleasant 3-room apartment for a stay between April and September 2023 since we will be away on research. We prefer long-term stays but are flexible in this sense. We would like to find respectful and responsible tenets who would take good care of the place.
