Beautiful historic home 5 minutes from Hilo Medical Center, Downtown, and UH Hilo. 10 minute walk to shopping, the library, and the bayfront. Ready to move in -- fully furnished with all of the essentials, king-sized master bed, high-speed cable internet, and a sound system with both living room and kitchen speakers. All utilities, curbside trash/recycling, monthly cleaning, and yard service included. Front porch, hardwood floors, ceiling fans, gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, and garbage disposal. The attached unit in the rear is rented separately. A caretaker stays in the basement below the attached unit. An outdoor common space with laundry and utility sink and a secure garage are shared. Storage may be available in the garage. This is the house where we raised our children and that we plan to return to later in life, so we only rent to the best tenants who will take care of our home and be good neighbors to our friends. The application fee of $45 is per adult tenant. It covers the costs of a credit, criminal, and eviction background check. Note: Unfortunately, there is a 13.25% Hawaii transient accommodations tax (TAT) that we must charge on rent for leases under six months. Also, because of the additional unit vacancy and costs of turnover between tenants, we add a 25% surcharge for leases under three months. This still keeps the cost far lower than comparable vacation rentals in the area.
