Apartment in "Paradise"

Description

The neighborhood our apartment is located in is indeed called "Paradies" or paradise in English. It is a very sought-after neighborhood in the lovely historic lakeside town of Konstanz. The apartment is on the third floor of a very quiet 4-story building (elevator). The layout is as follows: you enter into a hallway, the first door on your left leads into a large combined dining and living room. The couch is a bedcouch and up to two people can sleep there. There is a large, south-facing balcony in front of the living room that looks down into a large yard area (Innenhof) featuring some green. If you turn right instead a short hallway will lead you into what is known in Germany as a half room, it used to be the dining nook but now serves as an office. Directly adjacent is the small kitchen that is fully equipped except including a washing machine but it does not have a dryer (a rack for hanging clothes is available). The next room on the right is a bedroom. It has a single bed, a large desk and a large closet. It is my son's room when he is here. Next to his room are the bathroom and toilet (2 separate rooms) The main hallway turns left and the last room is the large bedroom with a double bed (German style, two mattresses, two duvet covers) a very large closet and a nook equipped with a high-adjustable standing desk. The balcony extends along the bedroom as well. Please note: due to the large balcony and the third floor location this apartment is not suited for young children as the risk of falling is too great! The apartment is fully furnished. The apartment is located in one of Konstanz' most sought-after neighborhoods. It is central, just a few minutes from the historic old town and the (also historic) commercial center. You can reach the HTWG within minutes by foot. The bus to Universität Konstanz departs directly in front of the house every 20 to 30 minutes. Zurich and St. Gallen can be reached by car or train. There is no parking included with the apartment. Parking can be challenging in the neighborhood. We have bikes that we are happy to let you use as biking is by far the most convenient way to get around the town and you can do great bike tours to sites like the Island of Reichenau, a UNESCO World Culture Heritage Site.
