This serene home with separate study is particularly suited for a couple or a family. The recently renovated house with high ceilings has two bedrooms, an additional bedroom/guestroom/study with a toilet, a bright bathroom, a spacious living room with modern open kitchen, a secluded garden, and an easily accessible roof terrace with stunning views on the harbor of Syros and the islands of Mykonos, Naxos and Paros. The mesmerizing Asteria beach, Agios Nikolaos church, and the lively central Miaouli square are only a 5-minute walk away. Parking your car requires a 3-5 minute walk, and supermarkets, several restaurants and greengrocers offer excellent home delivery services. As the house is in a pedestrianized area, the main sounds you will hear are the discrete Agios Nikolaos church bells, the distant and occasional ship's horns, and passing cats. The home is built on a slope and has two levels, which are connected with each other via outdoor stairs (within the property). The groundfloor is at street-level and consists of a bedroom/study and a toilet. The first floor is the main living area and opens onto the garden on the backside of the house and has a balcony on the streetside of the house. Upon entering the property from the street, on your right is the guestroom/study with a separate toilet, sink, storage space and ceiling ventilator. This room has a sofa bed (140x195cm), which is perfect for receiving friends and comfortable for using it as a bed on a daily basis. In this room you will also find a bright desk that will give you privacy and space from the upper, main floor. Upon leaving this room, take the outdoor stairs to arrive at the main living area and a balcony that covers the entire 10 meter front of the house. When entering this part of the home, you will arrive in a spacious central hallway with two bedrooms on your right. The bedrooms give onto the balcony from where you oversee the street, the Agios Nikolaos church, and parts of the sea and harbor. The first bedroom has a queensize bed (160x200cm), and the second bedroom has a triple bunkbed (90x200cm each) and a long desk that accommodates three individuals. Both bedrooms have very large fitted wardrobes, ceiling ventilators and airconditioning for cooling and heating. From the hallway you will also reach the bright and minimalist bathroom with toilet, shower (80x80cm), sink, and washing machine (no dryer). Left of the hallway is the spacious living room with a large, comfortable corner sofa, two arm chairs, and a rectangular dining table that fits five people. The living room has two windows, one giving onto the balcony and harbour, and the other onto the garden. Adjacent to the living room is the open, modern kitchen, overlooking the backyard. The backyard has a dining area protected against the sun and a Mediterranean style garden design. Easy stairs lead to the large roof terrace with stunning views over the Aegean and the harbor of Syros. This is a great place for early morning coffees and late afternoons drinks, observing the ships coming in and out of the harbor, the changing facets of the Aegean, and comtemplating several research breakthroughs. Ferry connections to Athens (Piraeus) take 3 hours and 45 minutes, with additional faster connections between April and October. There are regular airline connections between Syros and Athens (25 minutes), and good international airline connections via Athens and (in Spring-Summer) via Mykonos.
