Our home is nestled in the historical center of a small town, surrounded by rolling hills and mountains, vineyards and farms, parks, hiking trails, Etruscan archeological sites, and natural hot springs. Enjoy a real village life in the tucked-away southwestern corner of Maremma, Tuscany. The home is located in the center of the historical village - an old-style home with 3-meter high ceilings and stone walls - yet has all the modern amenities including a new kitchen, living room with smart tv, high-speed internet, sleeper-couch, and pellet-stove/fireplace. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed and there is a second bedroom which can function as an office with a large desk and reading chair or be converted to another bedroom with either 1 or 2 twin-sized beds. On the ground floor there is a courtyard that is open for communal use. Enjoy a coffee or read in the hammock. If you're an artist and are looking for an extra work space, we are open to discussing use of the ground floor studio. We live in the apartment above. We are an Italo-American family of 3, and we moved to Pitigliano from Rome in 2021. Bruno is an American university Emeritus Professor, Catherine is a teacher here in Italy, and Oscar is our 4 years-old son. We welcome anyone interested in living the slow paced village life here in Maremma. In Pitigliano you will find all necessary day-to-day services, easily accessible on foot, including a hospital with an emergency room, supermarkets, pharmacies, and many cafes, restaurants and shops. Some nearby main points of interest include: Lake Bolsena , Mount Amiata, Terme di Sorano and Saturnia, the neighboring villages of Sorano and Sovana, and the seaside of Orbetello and the entire Argentario coast.
