This conveniently located and accommodating Seattle Craftsman is the home where we loved raising our boys and enjoyed time with friends. It's a home we hope you can enjoy too! Centrally located between the Madrona and Leschi neighborhoods, our home is just a short walk down to the lake and close to Seattle University, Harborview, Swedish and VIrginia Mason Hospitals. We are one block from the bus stop and just minutes from downtown and 15 minutes to the University of Washington and Children's Hospital. Our home is a classic 1910 Craftsman with original hardwood floors, and crown molding throughout. The main floor was remodeled in 2008 in order to enlarge the kitchen and open it up to the dining area. It has a fully outfitted kitchen with large center island, coffee and drink counter, with mini beer and wine fridge, french doors that open to the back deck and garden and warm cherry cabinets. The powder room is also off the kitchen. The dining room with large italian dining table made from old church doors sits between the kitchen and living room and serves as a group study/work center and of course the gathering spot for large dinners with friends and family. With the addition of the side table designed to be added to one end, the table seats 12. The dining room also has french doors that open to the back deck and garden. In the spring and summer, with both doors open we have a terrific circular traffic flow for larger groups. The mini grand piano sits in the bay windows of the living room looking out over the front garden. The piano has served as the center for many a house concert and has been a great place for our family and guests to both be creative and unwind in the middle of a work, or study session. The second floor is where you find the bedrooms. On this floor you'll find 3 bedrooms, the office, shared bathroom and Primary Bedroom with private bathroom .The primary bedroom is east facing with mornings sunrise views towards the tops of the Cascade. It has a deck over the garden, a smaller sized walk-in closet and a second small closet as well. Both have been more than sufficient. The second and third bedrooms on the second floor share a bathroom with shower, tub, large mirror over the medium sized marble counter top sink area and two sets of drawers for storage for separate toiletries. The second bedroom with west facing windows has french doors to the office, an armoire and separate bureau for clothes. The third bedroom has an east facing windows looking over the garden to the tops of the Cascade mountains, has a small closet area, bureau and small desk. This room has stairs up to a bonus room with two single beds. In the past, this bonus room has not been used as an official bedroom, but rather as a play room, hang out, or study room and room for visiting family and friends. In recent years we have hosted medical patients at the University of Washington, groups of Medical Students on rotation in Seattle, academics writing curriculum from Alaska , and Gamers working to develop and raise funding for their startup. Every group we've hosted has enjoyed the comforts of our home, including working around the large and beautiful dining room table, independent study and work spaces, piano, fireplace, garden and hot tub! Additionally, groups have enjoyed our close proximity to lake Washington, as well as neighborhood cafes, small shops and restaurants, Lumen Field, T- Mobile Park and the International District. We love our family home and believe that you will too.
