Our home is centrally located in the heart of CDMX, but in a very quiet neighborhood. It has wide spaces, terraces, and plenty of light. The house has four levels. The main level --- where the kitchen, dining room, living room, and patio are --- has an open plan. It is our favorite place in the house. We love having people over for dinner or coffee and sitting on our patio or cooking in the open kitchen with friends. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a half bathroom here for guests. The next level has the main bedroom, which is very spacious, has a balcony and its own bathroom. Our kid's bedroom is also on this level. It currently has a crib on it, but we could put a sofa bed (double size) there for adults. This room also has its own full bathroom. The top level has a TV room and studio (our offices), as well as a roof terrace. This level also has a full bathroom. The sofa on this level can turn into a bed (about queen-size). The roof terrace has a nice table to sit at and enjoy the afternoon and the view of the surrounding trees. Finally, the bottom level (below the main level) has a laundry room, a storage place, and a room with its own full bathroom (that you access through the laundry room). This room doesn't have the best light and is small, but it can comfortably fit two people (it has a double bed). Our house is located in the middle of the block; thus, it is very quiet, and we barely get any street noise. The house has a nice view of surrounding trees from most rooms. We live in San Miguel Chapultepec. Though less "touristy" than nearby La Condesa - Roma, this is a really charming neighborhood. It's located across from Bosque de Chapultepec, the largest park in the city, which makes it perfect for people who enjoy running or just taking long strolls through a beautiful park and taking a break from the city buzz. The neighborhood is mostly residential but has plenty of small coffee shops and a few restaurants. There is also a supermarket and a market (with tons of fresh produce) within walking distance. The neighborhood is also known for its art galleries. You will also be able to walk or bike to supermarkets, pharmacies, convenience stores, and other hip neighborhoods in Mexico City. It is very easy to commute to Polanco, Reforma, Condesa, Roma, Napoles, and Cauthemoc within minutes. There are two subway lines nearby (Juanacatlan on line 1 is about a 4 minute walk, and Constituyentes on line 7 is about 15 minutes walk). Here are a few articles (in English) about the neighborhood https://theculturetrip.com/north-america/mexico/articles/the-top-10-things-to-do-and-see-in-mexico-city-s-san-miguel-chapultepec/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/travel/mexico/san-miguel-chapultepec-neighborhood-mexico-city/ https://en.mxcity.mx/barrios/san-miguel-chapultepec/

Comments: We want to rent the house for 50,000 MXN. This rate is below market rate for the house. We want our cleaning lady to continue to come every day of the week. Her salary is 10,500 MXN. Utilities are usually 2,000 MXN a month or so.
We have 2 cats and a dog. The dog will come with us on our sabbatical. The cats will come with us, unless you are a cat person who loves cats.
