I am a retired academic and want to offer my home to academic couples or singles who wish to spend a period in Cambridge. My house is located in a quiet cul-de-sac near the river and is a short walk into the city centre, restaurants and pubs, and many university departments. It was completely remodelled in 2012 with upgraded central heating, insulation and double glazing. It has a quiet principal bedroom with ensuite overlooking the back garden on the second floor, and a guest bedroom, bathroom and study on the first floor. The ground floor has a large living room, galley kitchen, utility room and dining room looking onto the garden. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer, dishwasher, double oven and microwave. The garden is maintenance free and has a Big Green Egg BBQ, fountain and sculptures. It has a shed with a second fridge freezer and bike storage. It is perfectly possible to get by without a car as there is good public transport nearby. However, if needed there is residents' on-street parking for which a permit can be bought. There is high speed broadband and wifi excellent for online meetings, and cable TV with sports channels. The house is fully equipped with linen, crockery and cutlery etc., so all you need to bring is your personal belongings. I live in Cambridge and will meet you and ensure that everything is to your satisfaction when you arrive. The rent includes all utilities.
