After a long-delayed finish to our remodel, we are looking for renters during our Winter and Spring terms (when we will unfortunately not be in residence), January through June 2024. Ideally suited to a couple or a small family of three, the house is tastefully decorated with designer furnishings and full of high end appliances. (We just finished the decks this week and I will update pictures after they are sealed.) We'd love to find someone who will treat the place like it is their own. The 2BD/2BA California cottage has everything that an academic or professional needs: fiber internet with whole house coverage (including the decks), a giant desk with 32” monitor, and ample book storage. The kitchen and baths are stunning. The main bath has a massive, light-filled walk-in shower with a rain head or a wall mount. If you prefer baths, there’s a deep soaking tub in the hall bath. The kitchen has fabulous appliances and is an entertainer’s dream. A 16ft wall of windows opens onto the spacious back deck with lounge seating and a dining area. There is ample additional outdoor space for California living too, including a gas fire pit. The East San Roque neighborhood is convenient and charming. We’re less than a mile away from the Mission, the Natural History Museum, and a short drive to the Botanical Garden and innumerable trails. The closest beach access is Arroyo Burro (aka Hendry’s aka Dog Beach) a five minute drive or quick bus ride away. We’re also about 2 miles from the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. In short, you can get almost anywhere on a bike! The buses also run close by. And the house has an electric car charger, if you need one. Insofar as conveniences are concerned, the neighborhood has it all. It’s an easy walk to CVS, Trader Joe’s, Los Agaves, Handlebar, Breeosh, Edomasa, Daily Grind, and many more. Within a five minute drive are Gelson’s, Chaucer’s books, Whole Foods and a few more minutes away there’s a Target. Cottage Hospital is a mile away.
