We have a lovely place overlooking the Bruntsfield Links (continuation of Meadows), 15 minutes pleasant walk to the George Square campus of the University of Edinburgh. The location is genuinely fantastic (and rare). Literally next door to the trendy Bruntsfield urban village (with lots of coffee shops, restaurants, shops, and a bus stop), and a few minutes walk to Cameo art cinema, King's and Lyceum theaters, and only 20 minutes walk to the Royal Mile. Our place is about 100 m2 (1000 sq ft), with an airy open plan live-in kitchen overlooking a park, plus three bedrooms and two bathrooms (one on-suite), separate utility with washer/dryer. Extremely quiet (dead-end street). The flat occupies the best floor of a grand 150-year old terraced house, with 4m high ceilings and original features, and was fully renovated a few years ago. It is truly lovely and unique place. The master bedroom has a UK king/US queen sized bed and en-suite, and set extremely quietly at the back overlooking back gardens. The other back bedroom has a double bed. The third bedroom is at the front, currently set up as an office but can be used as a third bedroom (where a single sleeping space can be arranged), accessible both from the living space and from the hallway. There are working shutters in all rooms. The flat is fully furnished (bed linens, towels, dishes, cooking implements, and so on) and has everything a visiting academic might need (two desks, high speed internet/wifi, printer, etc.) It contains our books etc, but there is plenty of space to store your own. (Our personal effects are in storage on premises. We are happy to remove the remaining decorative items if that was requested.) Absolutely no cats (severe cat allergies). No smoking. Well behaved dogs might be considered. We plan to use the flat over the summer(s), and are looking for people to stay during the academic term time. Please get in touch if interested.
