Hudson Valley Victorian Writer's/Artist's Retreat in Historic Neighborhood

Looking for academics, professors, writers, artists, or anyone else in need of a quiet hideaway in the Hudson Valley, one with a walkable historic neighborhood of Victorians outside their front door, sidewalks that can take you right into town, restaurants close-by, and all of the Hudson Valley's museums, nature, sights, never more than 10-30 minutes away in every direction. Ideally, this is for a couple with or without children -- and if with children, being over 10 -- who want a respite or need a location for a professorship with a nearby college, New York City just a 1 hour 30 minute Amtrak train-ride away, the train station a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk. This is a private home with the quirks of history -- our ideal visitors will understand living in an aged environment, enjoy the mixture of city bustle blocks away, historic suburbia blocks in the other direction, and nature just a 10 minute car ride across the Hudson River, any which way they go. We need relatively low maintenance families, couples, or individuals. Should they appreciate contemporary art and historic architecture, that's always a plus! Dates are flexible -- we tend to be away January - May with someone living inside, but can also offer summertime rentals at an up-charge to include our glorious 32' x 16' pool.
