Completely renovated Victorian with five bedrooms all with queen-size beds (six actually, but one will be closed off) spanning three floors and sitting on over two acres. Huge wrap-around front porch with gardens (herb, medicinal, and vegetable + fruit trees), fire pit, small pond, picnic tables, and clothesline. Professional kitchen with a six-burner Viking range, proper dining room, and a baby grand piano in the sitting room (plus other instruments). Hundreds (and hundreds) of books, a Peloton, and a small kitchenette on the 3rd floor. Full washer/dryer, on-demand hot water, radiant heat, and lots of small nooks to work, write, create, and play. The home is located in Malden-on-Hudson, a small hamlet four minutes from downtown Saugerties. The neighborhood is walkable and filled with artists, musicians, academics, and journalists from around the world. There is Hudson River access a five minute walk from the house, where you can swim, kayak, and enjoy the views. You are 15 minutes from Catskill and Woodstock; 20 from Kingston and Kaaterskill; 25-30 from either the Hudson or Rhinecliff Amtrak Stations. We are an academic and journalist who will be based in Santa Fe for a semester. This is our full-time home and it comes completely furnished. Each bedroom has either a Casper or Leesa mattress. We also have a small child so cribs/toys available if that suits you. It's a gorgeous old home with hardwood floors, a grand oak staircase, and pellet and wood stoves. There is parking for at least six cars. Saugerties hosts many amenities including wonderful hikes; the Orpheum Movie Theater; Opus 40; The Local (best music venue in the Hudson Valley); Inquiring Minds Books Store; a weekly farmers market; yoga studios; wonderful coffee shops, restaurants, and bars, and the famous Smoke House of the Catskills---all within 5-10 minutes of the house. Many more photos are available upon request. We are looking to rent for the entire 3.5 months, but could be open to offers of otherwise. Rent includes utilities (trash, internet, water, electric, and gas; cleaning in the middle of the rental and at move out). We would ask that the anyone who rents for longer than a month obtains their own renter's insurance. No cats. We would be willing to consider a dog (we have one who will be coming with us). We'd want to meet the pup before we agree and there would be an additional $500 security deposit.
