When we first found this house, the excitement was accompanied by the desire to share this precious place with others... it just felt too special to keep to ourselves. We thought a lot about who we would want to share it with. As it is our vacation home too, we decided to open it up to a few select people each year, people who we knew would treasure the peace, quiet and stunning views as much as we do. So if you are looking for a truly peaceful retreat in the mountains, this charming 3 bedroom furnished home might be just the right fit for you. This secluded property borders the national forest and offers stunning views from every window. You will feel like you have the whole mountain to yourself, with only a few neighbors in sight. (and we really like our neighbors!) The home features a gas fireplace in a cozy living room with an Arhaus leather couch. The spacious kitchen is newly updated with quartz countertops, new appliances, new flooring and absolutely everything you need to cook your meals (including a new food processor, a vintage KitchenAid stand mixer, a blender and an insta-pot). The living and dining area are open plan, and the dining area opens to the sunroom. The sunroom may be my favorite room, with soaring windows where you can enjoy the rocky outcroppings and mountain scenery, write at the marble table, and nap on the daybed. And boy, for some reason those are the best naps. The home has three comfortable bedrooms on the second floor, each with high quality mattresses and bedding. The primary bedroom has an ensuite 3/4 bathroom, while the other two bedrooms share a full bathroom. This full bathroom has exceptional views, and some have jokingly called it ‘a poo with a view’. In addition there is a 1/2 bathroom on the main floor. All bathrooms have been updated with new mirrors, sinks, faucets and countertops. The queen bedroom and the 2-twin bedroom share a balcony where you can take in the private views and fresh mountain air, all while you have your morning coffee. The twin beds have antique bedframes that add to overall the charm of the room. Painted and furnished to be relaxed, warm and cozy, I personally selected real furniture and décor to make this a one of a kind mountain home in a remote location, perfect for a retreat, perfect for promotings rest, relaxation, and the kind of inspiration that only comes from living in nature. While 45 minutes from the city of Fort Collins, it is just a 15 minute drive to the town of Red Feather Lakes where there are 2 grocery stores, a hardware store, different locally owned shops, several restaurants offering live music and (of course) lakes you can enjoy. It is also 25 minutes from the Beaver Meadows Resort where you can ride horses in the summer and ice skate, snow tube, or cross-country ski in the winter. The home itself is located near many hiking trails to explore, as well as small ponds where you can fish. This home is perfect for long-term stays of 31 days or more.
