Our 200 square metre family home is a Victorian Town House split-level flat with its own street entrance, located in a well-known West London square boasting a prize-winning private communal garden. With no through road, and only one window opening onto the street, it provides total silence and is therefore an ideal home for research and writing. High ceilings and original 19th century features (including a chimney in every room) make our home quite exceptional in central London; further, it is extremely spacious, flooded with light and beautifully and lovingly furnished. It consists of a very large study with a skylight (which can be used as a second bedroom); a spatious master bedroom, a substantial and fully equipped live-in kitchen, a double sized living room and 2 bathrooms. It includes a piano, a TV and fast fibre Wi-Fi throughout. The extensive and lush private communal garden (entry with a key is exclusively for those who live on the square) is perfect for reading or al fresco dining. Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Paddington Station plus 3 tube stops (serving Elizabeth, Bakerloo, Circle, District and Central lines) are all within a 5-minute walk. Heathrow can be reached in 30 min; LCY in 50 min and Gatwick in an hour. Bloomsbury, its libraries and universities, are all within 20 min by tube, as are London's major museums and theatres. 3 supermarkets are less than 10 minutes' walk as are Westbourne Grove’s quaint shops, cafes and restaurants. Portobello Road/market and Notting Hill are both within easy walking distance. Our home is ideal for a couple. Towels, linens, duvets and blankets are included as is cleaning twice weekly (for a total of 6hrs) by our wonderful housekeeper who has been with us for many years.
