The Dearborn Cottage is a furnished historic farmhouse in the heart of Seattle's Central District. Fully remodeled in 2021 as an experiment in regenerative design, the 2BR/1BA Cottage has all new appliances, heat pump heating/cooling, and climate-adaptive landscape including bountiful urban orchard and private gardens. Bedrooms The bedrooms feature abundant natural light and storage for short or long term stays. All textiles are a minimum of OEKO-Tex 100 standard. All bedding is organic cotton and linen. Modern Baths The bathroom has been updated completely. Toiletries are sourced from Public Goods with sustainable ingredients free of parabens, sulfates, toxins, and packaged in biodegradable alternatives to single-use plastic. Dedicated Workspace There is a formal workspace with a desk, writing chair, multiple outlet/ USB charging station, and task lighting. Pure white walls make projecting a breeze. Whiteboard available upon request. Fully Outfitted Kitchen The kitchen is set up the way we'd want it at home. Dishes and flatware for large meals, pots, pans, bowls, baking and serving utensils, knives that are actually sharp, and all the tools you'll need. Toaster, Microwave, professional-grade 5-burner gas range and french door SS fridge with bottom freezer. Regenerative Landscaping You'll have the full run of the private, fully fenced garden, patio for dining, and fruit trees. Enjoy culinary herbs and help yourself to organic strawberries, and fruit from the trees when the season is right. If you're curious about this, we're happy to share what we've learned so far. REVIEWS Adorable cottage, super well decorated and equipped, in a great neighborhood, with the BEST hosts. Many other places I've stayed have had photogenic but cheap decor - this one had fantastic linens, books on the shelves I actually wish I had more time for, a properly stylish and comfy couch, new high-end appliances. It's well set up for digital nomading with very fast internet and a well-placed desk with a view - the only challenge is a shortage of outlets in the original construction, but the hosts thoughtfully placed a few (cute round) powerstrips in several spots to cover that. It felt like the kind of place the owners would want to stay in, themselves. This will be the first listing I look for availability every time I visit Seattle, hands down. - Marc We’ve stayed in a ton of Airbnbs over the years and this is absolutely one of the best. Kate's place was everything her listing said it would be and so much more. We spent two weeks enjoying being in the middle of everything we wanted, though we ended up staying home even more than we thought because the house was so cozy and downright delightful. The kitchen was super well appointed (we love to cook) and the design of the space was so inspiring. We loved eating our breakfast in the bright dining area, relaxing in lovely living room and playing with our kiddo in the huge yard! Kate was so thoughtful in the homey but elevated touches she added to this space and we loved it. We were also so excited to be right next to an amazing park for walks and playing, up the hill (!!!) from Big John’s PFI as well as the International District (for amazing pho and dim sum) and just down the street from several great eating spots and coffee shops. - Bing This is a gem! Ric and Kate have a very cute spot that you can tell they put a lot of thought and detail to. Just a few things that really made our spot enjoyable was the decked out kitchen, the comfortable bed, and a great selection of books. The coolest part: our host, Ric and Kate! They were very quick to communicate. We had a few last minute request that they gladly were able to accommodate! We will see you soon Seattle! - Adriana Wonderful hosts!!
